Description
I have absolutely no idea when these pictures were taken, the only thing I can be sure of is that they were taken prior to 1921.
They show many GSDs of old and also some pictures showing them without black snouts (which supposedly they all must have today for no apparent reason) and what they were physically capable.
Some GSDs of today still look very much like these ones but it is obvious that the GSD of the breed standard was not among the paragons of the GSD lines, neither today nor back than.
Interestingly many breeders and owners seem to be totally oblivious to the fact.
Or in case of artists they use the "banana back" as a model and not the straight back.

Puppy mills of festering incest has corrupted veins of german shepards genes! We need a genetically superior breed of german shepards to continue on the sensible way of breeding!
