Not a very original name, but then again this little thumbsized Allocene bug was designed on a whim yesterday evening. It is a descendent of the modern day European water beetles and as the name suggests has developed into a blood sucker.

One of their favorite preys is the Spotted Mud Pig: [link]

Blood-sucking dytiscid? Thatīs really cool! :D I once drew a giant predatory dytiscid beetle for the project, perhaps they could be distant relatives.
